Easy Price Pro goes international! ( Posted : 22/12/2009 )
Confidence in our estimating software has reached an all-time high with the news that our products are launching in the United States this month (January).
Easy Price Pro boss Paul Betts has always has the American dream in his sights but only in the last two years has he been able to give our software development team the time to work intensively on the project. The result is a totally American version of New Houses and Extensions PLUS™, complete with all the latest technical gizmos such as wizards and 3D illustrations. The software will be named ‘Estimator Ultra™’.
We set up a U.S. website a couple of months ago and were contacted almost immediately by a major American distribution company which is an expert in the field of construction software. Since then, work has gone on behind the scenes to hammer out a deal and it has just been announced the company is to have sole distribution rights to our products in the U.S. and Canada.
Paul said: “It’s been a long haul, project-wise, not only because the U.S. still uses Imperial measurements but also because their construction terminology is completely different. We had to do a lot of research and endless calculations to make sure our programs would be 100 percent accurate, as they are in this country.
“I’m especially pleased that this major player in the U.S. sought us out and found our USA trial website, rather than the other way around, and that they think that we have a fantastic product. Although the U.S. has got estimating programs, it has nothing to compare with ours, so the company was very keen indeed to sign us up and the deal means we can look forward to great things in the future.”
Things are hotting up! ( Posted : 22/12/2009 )
Easy Price Pro products have received another confidence boost, this time from HeatNet the Nationwide Brand for Professional Installer, who operate their business throughout the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. Easy Price Pro have licensed their Easy Plumbing and Heating™ software program to HeatNet, the program has been re-branded as REPS – Really Easy Pricing System™ and be sold as part of the HeatNet package. Easy Price Pro is also working in partnership with HeatNet to expand and distribute the software product so it will become an industry pre requisite.
Heatnet co founder and Chief Executive, Jim Edwards, who was formerly with British Gas and Business Development Director of a number of large Plumbing and Heating operations, says he’s thrilled with the way his new business has taken off. “We were and remain overwhelmed by the level of interest since our launch in September and we’re now working through the potential HeatNet licensees and are delighted with the take-up.”
Jim and his team spotted Easy Price Pro’s Easy Plumbing and Heating™ program in a national magazine and came to see us at our Suffolk head office. After talks and demonstrations, they were convinced it was the ideal product to support their clients in the Plumbing and Heating industry nationwide.
New partner – new deal! ( Posted : 22/12/2009 )
Easy Price Pro has entered into a new partnership with BuildBase, the national chain of Builders’ Merchants.
As from March this year, customers can receive a hefty discount on all EPP products if they buy it under the BuildBase brand. The software will have BuildBase prices built in to the libraries where they will be updated regularly.
Customers who purchase their software with BuildBase prices will receive discounts of between 20 and 25 percent across the whole range of EPP estimating and ordering software.
Other ways of receiving prices into your estimating software libraries will remain, e.g. local prices from your own builders’ merchants or national prices downloaded from EPP.
You’re worth it! ( Posted : 22/12/2009 )
Are you getting value for money from your membership of a trade organisation?
If you believe the answer is: ‘no, not really’, it’s well worth considering joining FairTrades instead. It’s much less expensive than other, similar bodies and we believe it offers far more benefits.
Becoming a member of FairTrades provides the following:
·Handy Contact Cards to push through letterboxes when you work in an area
·Big discounts with Yellow Pages
·Introduction leaflets to explain the benefits of using a FairTrades member
·'Check me out' facility
·Membership certificate
Businesses must have been trading for more than one year and be able to pass legal and financial checks. Also taken into account are: quality of work, timeliness, value for money and courtesy
Sister organisation, TrustMark Direct, is a nationwide, Government-backed scheme which helps customers find reputable tradespeople. Those who join benefit from national advertising campaigns. TrustMark also offers the Insurance Backed Guarantee (IBG), an award-winning scheme which protects your work with a warranty.
Easy Price Pro Sales Manager, David Wilkin, said: “A proper guarantee is a real work-winner and increases profits while emphasising good customer service. TrustMark has proved that builders using the scheme generate more business so the relatively small cost of the insurance is easily absorbed in estimates. The admin is very simple and the whole scheme is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
“You don’t have to be members of FairTrades or any other trade association to join. This is another big advantage as, if you approach other trade organisations to access TrustMark, they can insist you join them first, while FairTrades don’t. You can choose to join only TrustMark if that suits you better and it’ll cost you half as much as going through other trade associations.”
David added: “We’ve been in partnership with both organisations, which are part of the HomePro Group, for the last six months now and we can recommend them highly. We wouldn’t be offering 10 percent off our software to their members if we didn’t!”
To join either organisation, just go online to www.fairtrades.co.uk/join or text ‘ft’ to 60066 and we will be in touch.
Our brand new version of Easy Builders Contract™ is nearly ready and currently undergoing its final trials. As reported last month, we are giving the program away to our customers for a set period, after which it’ll cost £325.
The free offer has now been extended until the end of February and to obtain your copy of the software, e-mail us with your details including your email address and we’ll send you a link to download it the minute our developers have finished their tests.
The software has been vastly improved and now includes inter-active, drop-box menus so you can tailor-make contracts exactly to your company’s terms and individual quotations. You’ll be able to use it free of charge for six months.
Easy Builders Contract™ is designed for domestic and small building works and sets out clearly and simply exactly what contractor and customer can expect from one another. It creates a binding legal contract covering payment terms, start and finish dates, contractual obligations and other issues, resulting in a truly professional document.
Award winner again! ( Posted : 20/11/2009 )
Easy Price Pro has won the award yet again for the best software product for construction companies.
Professional Housebuilder and Property Developer magazine has awarded Easy Price Pro one of its highest accolades – Best Software Product of the Year (2009). The prestigious national magazine, which has an average circulation of 21,000 copies a month, provides builders and developers with comprehensive coverage of the latest products, services, news, analysis of major events and initiatives affecting the construction industry, such as the implications of Government legislation.
Easy Price Pro won the award because of the consistent quality of our estimating software for all trades and the work we have done in recent years to continually improve our programs so they can achieve more for the user and are even easier to operate.
·The award was due to be presented to EPP Managing Director Paul Betts on 25th January and we hope to bring you further coverage and a photograph in the next newsletter.
Easy Price Pro maintained its usual strong presence at the latest Construction trades show, Interbuild 2009, which took place during the third week in October at the NEC in Birmingham. For the first time the exhibition was split into two sections, Interbuild Onsite for everything which might be required on a building site and Interbuild Specifier which focussed on construction process and design. A new feature this year was “Sustainability Street” with 13 buildings specially constructed to show off the latest ‘green’ technology, products and materials.
There were hundreds of exhibitors competing for the attention of the visitors and, as you can see from our picture above, EPP Agents were kept busy doing live demonstrations of our estimating software and taking details of those who wanted follow-up visits. EPP Marketing Director, Stephanie Collyer, said: “We had a crowded stand each day and everyone we spoke to said they liked what they saw and were very impressed with what the software can do.”
Always a firm favourite with the crowds, the Easy Price Pro promotions team directed visitors to our stand. Pictured here are Carrie and Rae who said they’d had a “great week, loadsa fun.”
